How to Make Effective Research Posters
Students and postdocs received training this spring to improve their research poster presentations. Dr. Claudia Bode, CEBC education coordinator, led this professional development session. By evaluating several past CEBC posters, participants learned first hand about what characteristics make a poster an effective visual communication tool. All agreed that posters should use text sparingly and use more figures. We also discovered that informative headings and a simple, focused message make posters more memorable and engaging.
