New industry partner: Origin Materials

Friday, April 12, 2019

CEBC welcomes Origin Materials as our newest industry partner!

Based in California and Ontario, Origin Materials is a material technology company. Its technology replaces petroleum with cheap, renewable sources of carbon from biomass sources to create building-block intermediates. The company’s vision is to industrialize chemical technology that is not just sustainable, but restorative. In 2017, Origin formed the NaturALL Bottle Alliance, whose members include Nestle, Danone, and PepsiCo, to develop a PET bottle made with 100 percent bio-based renewable resources.

We nurture connections with companies like Origin to gain business insights, identify research targets and drive projects toward commercialization.  A total of 25 companies have partnered with CEBC, 9 currently including: Archer Daniels Midland, Chevron Phillips Chemical, DuPont, ExxonMobil, W.R. Grace, INVISTA, Origin Materials, Reliance, and Honeywell UOP.

Our industry partners pay dues to the CEBC, which supports both research and operational efforts. In return, member companies gain access to intellectual property, faculty expertise, cutting-edge capabilities and students for future employment.
