CEBC is a partner in $10 million multi-institution, Center for Mineral & Metal Oxide Removal from Biomass (CMORE)

More about CEBC's VIFF research

Scientists at KU's Center for Environmentally Beneficial Catalysis are working with academic, industry and national lab partners to develop a process to sort municipal waste, isolate usable plant-based materials, and design storable and transportable feedstocks for manufacturing products. The Center for Mineral and Metal Oxide Removal from Biomass (CMORE) is one of five projects funded by a partnership of Schmidt Sciences and the Foundation for Food & Agricultural Research (FFAR). The two organizations have established the Virtual Institute on Feedstocks of the Future (VIFF) to enhance scientific collaboration in transforming biomass into key products in a more sustainable, circular bio-economy. VIFF will provide up to $47.3 million to the five selected projects.
